Package & Unit Substation ( Box-type substation ) is a transmission and distribution equipment which is widely used in the power grid today, and it also has a very high utilization rate all over the world. With the upgrading of the power grid industry, Package & Unit Substations ( Box-type substation ) have also begun to develop toward a trend of modularization, intelligence, and integration.

In response to the needs of China’s State Grid, GRL Electric has partnered with switchgears manufacturers in Sichuan Province to optimize the scheme of Package & Unit Substation.  We use low-voltage enclosed busbar system products to interated incoming and outgoing units, capacitors, metering rooms, and instrument rooms into one box substation.

It is eliminating the need for GSS, GDD cabinets, wiring busbars, etc., taking 800kA box substation as an example , It is expected to save 5 GSS cabinets and 270 kilograms of wiring busbars, which directly saves more than 3,500 US dollars in material costs, and can greatly reduce labor costs.

In the future, with the application of smart circuit breakers and smart detection modules, data collection, operation monitoring, early warning, remote control, and other functions will also be reflected in the box change program.
