Epilepsy is a common disease. There are about 10 million epilepsy patients in China. Recently, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine successfully completed an implantation operation,which is the first self-developed closed-loop nerve stimulation system in China.

After 1 month’s follow-up observation, comprehensive analysis of various EEG data and clinical effects, the results were satisfactory, and the patient was discharged from the hospital on April 19. This marks an important breakthrough in the clinical translational research of brain-computer interface in China in the field of diagnosis and treatment of refractory epilepsy.

This closed-loop neurostimulator is small and light , which can be charged via Bluetooth and can be used for about 10 years.In contrast, the closed-loop neurostimulator in United States is large and heavy, which is charged by a disposable battery，which can be last for 2-3 years and then needs to be replaced.
